What if Earth stops rotating suddenly ?

One day billions of years from now Earth will standstill, it will no longer be spinning because of the slowing down every moment. But chances are good that other events that will occur before that, such as the sun swallowing up the planet. With that being said, there isn’t a chance that the Earth will suddenly stop spinning anytime soon. But let’s just assume for a moment that the Earth did suddenly stop rotating, and take a look at what would happen to us, and the planet.

Our planet spins at its equator 1000 miles per hour as it orbits the sun. But, as you get closer to the poles, the rotation is slower. Without this rotation, life as we know it wouldn’t be possible. It is said that billions of years ago, our planet used to spin much faster than it does now. At the beginning of our young solar system, an unknown planet or large celestial body collided with the Earth, and in that collision, the Earth's alignment and rotation were changed, and the moon was formed. Since then the Earth’s rotation has been slowing down.

Now let's get back to the question, What will happen if Earth stopped rotating suddenly?

Imagine what would happen if you are traveling in a car at the speed of 1,000 mph and suddenly that car hits a strong wall? You would literally fly out the front windshield & hit the wall. The speed of Earth's spin is about 1,000 miles per hour, as a result, the entire Earth's atmosphere & everything else is traveling that speed. So, if Earth stopped spinning most of the buildings & houses will fall because of the momentum.

Oceans will cover up most of the land on Earth & tsunamis will be so high that you wouldn't be able to see the top.

Since the Earth has stopped spinning so there will be one side always facing the sun & the other side will be in dark forever, the dark side.

As a result of the above facts, most of the human species will die.
