Why Muslims celebrate Eid-al-Fitr according to the moon ?

In Muslims, two type of eids is celebrated which is Eid ul fitra and Eid ul Juha.

Eid ul Juha is celebrated to remind and revive the gracious memory of Abraham and Ishmael & the Eid ul Fitra is celebrated by Muslims because they percept that Allah gives a day of enjoyment after a Ramadan month.

In Islam, Muslims follow the lunar Hijri calendar which depends on the moon & its location. Moon plays an important role to confirm the month and it shows the ending of a month and the beginning of the new month.

Eid is an Islamic festival celebrated on the first of the lunar month of the shawl, at the end of the holy month of Ramadan, every year. So after a whole month, they can finally start eating again.

In short, it's their celebration for successfully completing Ramadan. It's important as a reminder that we are all extremely lucky. Some people fast because they have no other choice & there is no food for them.
